School Closure Reminder

February 2–6 Traffic, Parking & School Closure Reminder

 
Due to extensive security measures and street closures related to the NFL Super Bowl Commissioner’s Party at Grace Cathedral, school will be closed on Friday, February 6. Additionally, as Super Bowl weekend approaches (the Super Bowl is on Sunday, February 8), families should expect increased traffic and limited parking in the neighborhood this week; we ask parents to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel, drop-off, and pick-up. Thank you for your flexibility and cooperation.

      No School (Super Bowl Commissioner's Party in Grace Cathedral)

      Important Calendar Update for January 5, 2026, and February 6, 2026
       
      Dear Parents,
       
      I need to announce and explain a schedule change for the second semester. The NFL will hold its annual Super Bowl Commissioner’s Party in Grace Cathedral on Friday, February 6, 2026. As a result, security and logistics on Nob Hill that day will not allow us to conduct school.
       
      We have been informed that streets around the school will be closed, we will not have access to drop-off and pick-up zones, and all entrants to the block will be required to undergo background checks and vehicle searches. These and other limitations make holding school on Friday, February 6, all but impossible. (To give you a sense of the level of security, the FBI has been involved in planning this event.)
       
      Recognizing that closing school results in the loss of a day of instruction, we will replace the lost day by holding school on Monday, January 5, 2026, which had previously been scheduled as a professional development day.
       
      I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
