CSB's Aaron Mullen Named as Co-President of POCIS Board

Congratulations to CSB Athletic Director Aaron Mullen on his new role on the People of Color in Independent Schools of Northern California (POCIS) Board of Directors.
We are pleased to announce that CSB Athletic Director Aaron Mullen was recently appointed as President Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for People of Color in Independent Schools of Northern California (POCIS) for the 2015-2016 school year.

POCIS is a group of educators from diverse professional and personal backgrounds who stand as a resource for schools, families, and students alike. The orgranization strives to: 
  • Promote dialogue among people of color and their allies to foster multicultural understanding and community building.
  • Advocate for increasing ethnic and cultural diversity at all levels in independent schools.
  • Provide expertise and resource to educational professionals on building inclusive curriculum development.
  • Developing cultural competence in students and adults.
  • Fostering leadership in students and adults of color within schools.
  • Encourage that school structures, policies, and practices reflect a long-term and sustainable commitment to equity and inclusion.
POCIS is the largest National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) regional equity and inclusion board and has 131 member schools. Coach Mullen served as Events Co-Chair on the Board for the 2014-2015 school year.
